Telegram share their new features in a novel way

Telegram is a messenger service that prioritizes user privacy and message speed across multiple platforms. They also have new features coming out all the time. Telegram keep users up to date on new features through their “Telegram Tips” channel that is constantly updated with messages from the Telegram team.

Selecting “Telegram Features” on the sidebar easily sends users to the Telegram Tips channel if they’ve not already joined.

Users can scroll through recent announcements from the Telegram team. Each message comes with a little video and a short blurb showcasing the new feature.

To keep everything organized, Telegram have hyperlinked messages together. For instance, if you click on  “Cloud Drafts,” you’ll be taken to a January 15th, 2021, post that outlines what Cloud Drafts are and how to use them.

What makes this really good UX:

• Users can subscribe to the Tips channel so they get a notification when new features are released, making it easy for them to stay updated.
• Videos and graphics on each post break up what could have been an off-putting wall of text.
• Telegram’s hyperlinks add context and background information for people who need it so that each message is short and to the point.
