CoScreen explains screen sharing through interactive tutorials

We all have those moments when we need to share our screens, but say “hang on a minute,” while we close 18 windows, pictures of our dog, and embarrassing texts from Aunt Connie. The team at CoScreen knows this struggle of remote work well, so they created a tool that makes it easy to share individual windows.

Participants can click and interact with shared windows, which makes collaboration and troubleshooting (coding scenarios, debugging) a breeze. Chat and video options allow collaborators to talk as they share their screens.

CoScreen has a Chrome extension but also an application for macOS and Windows. The Getting Started page includes both the download link and instructions.

CoScreen makes use of the time involved in product download and installation by providing an interactive tutorial on screen sharing.

What makes this really good UX:

• CoScreen uses several methods to communicate how the product works and to improve user adoption. Users are provided with a step-by-step guide on the download screen and an onboarding tutorial.
• The onboarding tutorial is interactive, inviting users to click and “see” how screens are shared. A progress bar in the onboarding tutorial shows users how many steps they’ve completed.
• When starting or joining a CoScreen, users are provided with two options: select a window to share or join without sharing. Users have control from the beginning—a key element of CoScreen’s product messaging.
