MoviePass' zoomed-in onboarding session

MoviePass is a hub for current movie information. For ten bucks a month, users can attend unlimited movies at nearby theaters, and reserve their tickets and check in using the MoviePass app.

In their onboarding, they zoom in on some key ways users can benefit from the app.

Why this is really good UX:

• The MoviePass app walkthrough uses whitespace with each screen to its advantage. Rather than displaying an entire screenshot of their app, they only focus on the area that the tip is referring to. This allows the user to focus on each tip without any distractions.
• The app also takes advantage of their onboarding flow to state some crucial rules for users when using their MoviePass. These rules wouldn't otherwise be obvious, so the onboarding flow is the perfect place for them.
