Etsy's compelling push notification priming modal
Getting users to opt-in to push notifications is one of the most effective ways to improve long-term retention and engagement for mobile apps. For certain apps, it's also an essential part of delivering value.
But many users are understandably reluctant to opt-in to receiving yet another notification on their phone. That's where smart, compelling permission priming comes in. Popular ecommerce marketplace Etsy does a great job of convincing mobile users to turn on push notifications by highlighting the additional value this setting can provide in easy-to-scan bullet points. (It doesn't hurt that the fullscreen modal is beautifully designed, too.)
